Laura is originally from nearby Granite Quarry but lived all over the Southeast as a proud Air Force/Army Brat. She pursued a B.A. in Music Education at Christopher Newport University in Hampton Roads, VA and participated in the Miss America Organization to fund her education. She returned to Salisbury with her immediate family when her parents retired in 2007. Laura brings to the team her extensive expertise in client service, with over 20 years in management in restaurant hospitality as well as financial services.
Her passion in music stems from her family’s deep musical roots. She has been playing piano for over 30 years and spends most of her free time performing with her band both in the studio and on stage. On weekends she travels extensively as the front entertainer for The Tonez, a prestigious group in the Carolina Beach Music Industry. They received the Best New Artist award in 2020 and Laura was nominated for Female Vocalist of the Year in 2023.
She considers herself blessed to be marrying her best friend, Jonathan later this year. She has a beautiful stepdaughter starting at Catawba this Fall and 2 adorable pups, Jazzy and Minnie.
To Laura, “Live brilliantly” means to have a life that shines and help others do the same! The definition of success can vary from person to person, but she believes that if you love what you do and can focus on building a life you are proud of, others will automatically see your “glow” of happiness. It’s contagious!
